Frank Kluge brings fma’s Media Audit brand to the German market

At the end of 2017, Frank Kluge resigned as CFO of Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) for the region of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe. Now, together with his partners Geert Debruyne and Henk Plessius, he has founded fma Germany GmbH, headquartered in Düsseldorf (, bringing the Financial Media Audit company, which has been active in Belgium and the Netherlands for close to a decade, into the German Market.

Frank Kluge has worked for various groups of agencies as a CFO. Before joining DAN, he had successfully handled the finances of MEC and later of the entire German GroupM.  As a partner and managing director of fma Germany he will now leverage his experience to provide a new service to media auditors in the German market, which will prove to be an interesting development for some advertisers.

Geert Debruyne founded fma in Belgium in 2009, and Henk Plessius has been running fma in the Netherlands since 2015. Both previously held the positions of CFOs in media agencies in their home markets and are now the founding shareholders of fma Germany together with Frank Kluge.

fma has successfully established itself as a Financial Media Auditor in Belgium and the Netherlands, with its tagline “forging alliances”, aimed at improving ties between market stakeholders in the media business through clear solutions and greater trust. This philosophy enabled fma to secure clients such as L’Oréal, Danone, Toyota, Sanofi and Rabobank, as well as local clients with German roots such as Aldi, Miele and Deutsche Bank.

fma’s focus on digital channels has grown alongside the share of digital advertising in the overall budget. fma has already developed the Digital Performance Audit, a special audit format for testing and evaluating clients’ digital advertising campaigns. fma Germany will continue to develop the format in-house and, to this end, has entered into a long-term partnership with the newly-founded Düsseldorf-based OMT Online Media Transparency GmbH (, which provides its clients with comprehensive and transparent insights into all aspects of their digital campaigns.
